Your Impact
We’re seeking a technically skilled and growth‑focused IT Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our high‑performing IT team to strengthen, mature and optimise Transdev’s Australia and New Zealand technology environment. In this role, you’ll provide Level 2 and 3 support, while being key to implementing and improving cybersecurity controls across our infrastructure stack, including virtual servers, networking, telephony, storage and backup environments. You’ll take ownership of proactive maintenance, upgrades, patching, and remediation, working closely with our managed service partners and the internal IT team.
As a technical subject‑matter expert, you’ll be hands‑on with both operational tasks, strategic improvement initiatives, and key infrastructure projects, ensuring our environment is robust, secure, reliable and aligned to frameworks such as ISO27001, Essential 8, and SOCI requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Implement, maintain, and uplift cybersecurity controls across infrastructure, cloud, networks, and endpoints, ensuring alignment with ISO 27001, NIST CSF and Essential Eight.
- Support and maintain on‑prem and cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking and virtual environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, AWS).
- Lead configuration hardening, vulnerability management, and baseline compliance activities, including scanning, prioritisation, remediation, and reporting.
- Manage Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, O365/Exchange, Azure and related services, to deliver system installations, configurations, integrations, upgrades and patches to agreed standards and SLAs.
- Support identity, access, and endpoint security technologies such as MFA, SSO, conditional access, PAM, Intune, Defender XDR and other protection platforms.
- Contribute to infrastructure operations through proactive maintenance, patching, performance monitoring, and collaboration with MSPs and internal IT teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, evaluating recent technologies and optimising infrastructure performance and cost.
- Contribute to infrastructure and application projects, conducting impact assessments and translating requirements into practical technical security controls.
What You Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or computer science, with experience in system administration and/or industry experience (2+ years).
- Strong hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft technologies (AD, O365, Exchange, Windows Server, Intune, SCCM), networking fundamentals (Layer 2–3, DNS, DHCP), and enterprise endpoint and security tools such as Netskope and CrowdStrike Falcon.
- Proven experience with vulnerability management, SIEM/SOC tooling, security monitoring, and endpoint protection platforms.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and controls (ISO27001, NIST), identity management, cloud security, and infrastructure hardening, with certifications highly regarded.
- Ability to analyse risk, identify gaps, develop remediation plans, and communicate technical issues clearly and constructively.
- Customer‑focused communicator who is adaptable, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning and high‑quality documentation.
Don’t tick every box? That’s okay. At Transdev, we believe the right mindset, curiosity, and drive can outweigh a perfect resume. If you’re excited by the role and what we’re building, we’d love to hear from you.
