About the Opportunity

Liverpool Hospital's Pharmacy Department is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Pharmacist (Grade 3) to join our Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) team. This role offers a unique chance to expand your expertise in microbial pathogens, antimicrobial agents, and stewardship strategies within one of NSW's leading tertiary referral hospitals. Working closely with the Director of Pharmacy and supported by the District AMS Pharmacist, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing safe and effective antimicrobial use across the region.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of the AMS team across South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), you'll lead the implementation and continuous development of a robust antimicrobial stewardship program at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. Your responsibilities will include:

* Deploying and managing computerised decision support and restriction tools
* Monitoring antimicrobial use and evaluating program effectiveness
* Driving quality and safety improvements in antimicrobial practices
* Collaborating with prescribers, pharmacists, and clinicians to promote optimal antimicrobial use
* Supporting the rollout of AMS policy initiatives across the district

This is your chance to shape the future of antimicrobial stewardship in a dynamic and supportive clinical environment.

Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.

The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation. This redevelopment will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and introduce state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.

Working at Liverpool Hospital means being part of a forward-thinking, innovative team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. The hospital's commitment to education and research offers numerous opportunities for professional development and career progression.

The vibrant and supportive work environment, combined with the hospital's central location near public transport and local amenities, makes it an ideal place to grow your career while making a meaningful impact on the community.
