The Opportunity
We’re seeking a proactive Logistics Officer to play a vital role in keeping South Australia’s unsealed Outback roads safe and accessible. In this role, you’ll coordinate key activities, work closely with volunteers and stakeholders, and help ensure accurate and timely road information is provided to the public.
This is a unique chance to use your organisational and problem-solving skills to support road safety, improve systems and services, and make a real difference in remote communities.
About you
You’re a confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, able to build robust relationships and manage complex stakeholder environments with professionalism and discretion. You work well independently, balancing competing priorities and high workloads while delivering timely, high-quality results.
With sound judgement and a solutions-focused mindset, you use evidence to inform decisions and drive innovation, particularly through digital tools and systems. You act with urgency, take ownership and contribute to continuous improvement — making you a valued member of any team.
Educational Qualifications / Licenses
- A Current Driver’s Licence is essential.
Special Conditions
- A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
- This role is located in Port Augusta.
- Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
- This role requires availability after hours for callouts in relation to Road Condition Reporting on a roster basis.
