Position: Mechanical Engineering TechnicianPosition Type: Full-TimeSalary: $85,000 plus superannuation per annumLocation: Glendenning NSW 2761Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their team located in Glendenning, New South Wales.Duties and Responsibilities:Support the design and development of solar energy systems by creating CAD models, technical drawings, and schematics for solar panels and mounting structures.Assess environmental and wind conditions to ensure structural designs comply with wind load standards.Supervise the installation of mechanical components to ensure accurate setup, calibration, and performance of solar systems.Conduct testing and quality assurance on mechanical systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with industry standards.Perform regular maintenance and inspections of mechanical parts, diagnosing and repairing issues to maximize system efficiency and longevity.Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and installation teams to ensure proper handling and installation of mechanical systems.Analyze system performance data to identify mechanical issues and recommend improvements for increased efficiency and reliability.Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and relevant regulations for safe and efficient system operation.Assist with sourcing, procurement, and inventory management of mechanical materials and components required for solar installations.Support project planning and coordination by estimating resource requirements and collaborating with engineers and project managers.Implement and monitor health and safety practices during all mechanical activities, particularly in high-risk or extreme weather environments.Requirements:Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher in relevant fieldAt least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listedMinimum five (5) years' experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or experience in a similar roleValid Drivers LicenceStrong problem solving skills with ability to identify and resolve complex issuesAttention to detail with commitment to delivering high quality workAbility to work well both independently and in a team environment.
