Cold Store Operator
Responsibilities
1. Working in cold stores, stacking, securely for delivery while maintaining temperature requirements
2. Follow proper hygiene and sanitization protocols and wear appropriate PPE
3. Receiving, checking and locating of goods inwards stock, stock rotation, stock replenishment
4. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move and store products in the cold storage facility
5. Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations within the workplace
6. Stacking products in cold stores with appropriate pallet spacing and labelling
7. Commitment to maintain safe and organised work environment
8. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow wrapping and hygiene protocols
9. Ensuring the products are undamaged, checking the code numbers, quantity and order type
10. Following guidelines for temperature and humidity levels for specific types of meats to prevent spoilage or damage
11. Loads pallets onto transport vehicles, using safe working practices and checking both pallets and forklifts are clean
12. Inspect incoming and outgoing goods to ensure they meet quality standards
13. Using instruments to check and adjust the environment within cold storage to maintain optimal conditions for stored products
Skills and Qualifications
1. Must have knowledge to operate blast freezers
2. Must have forklift licence
3. Prior experience as a cold store operator for minimum 3 years
4. Strong knowledge of cold methods and operating kitchen tools and equipment.
5. Ability to work Full Time
6. Flexible to work on a rotating roster including weekends
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
