Responsibilities
Tallawong High School is a new school in Sydney's north west growth corridor, Dharug Ngurra (Country). The school will open with Stage 4 in 2027, growing to full capacity for 1000 students and the first Year 12 cohort in 2031. The role is to commence Term 4 2026, with all the preliminary requirements of establishing a team in a new school, including staffing, programming, systems and processes. Our school has close links with local primary schools, particularly Schofields Public School and Tallawong Public School, serving a culturally and linguistically diverse community. An innovative Aboriginal Education Cultural Hub will be established on‐site, in partnership with the local AECG and local knowledge holders, and this will inform our central commitment to Aboriginal education across all aspects of our school.
As part of our foundation executive team, Head Teachers will build the learning, behaviour and wellbeing structures to ensure we are the first‐choice school for families in our local enrolment area. Together, we will create a dynamic learning community with rigorous focus on academic excellence through evidence‐informed pedagogy, inclusive practice, authentic HPGE programmes, university connections, local community links, and a rich programme of extra‐curricular activities. Student wellbeing structures will focus on high‐expectations relationships and trauma‐informed practice to ensure students can unleash their full potential through holistic care and support.
