The role involves managing laboratory stocks, sourcing and ordering necessary supplies, coordinating repairs and maintenance of scientific equipment, and overseeing safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
The ideal candidate will have practical knowledge, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach, ensuring the science learning area operates smoothly and efficiently to support engaging classroom experiences.
* Contribute to the planning and delivery of curriculum-aligned practical activities
* Prepare materials, set up experiments, and offer expert advice on demonstrations
* Manage laboratory stocks, source and order necessary supplies, and coordinate repairs and maintenance of scientific equipment
* Oversee safety procedures, provide inductions to new staff and Level 1 Technicians, and contribute to the efficient running of the science area
Key Responsibilities:
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for:
* Assisting in the development and implementation of curriculum-aligned practical activities
* Preparing and setting up experiments, as well as providing expert advice on demonstrations
* Managing laboratory stocks, sourcing and ordering necessary supplies, and coordinating repairs and maintenance of scientific equipment
* Ensuring a safe working environment by overseeing safety procedures and providing inductions to new staff and Level 1 Technicians
