Mildura Disability Support Services is seeking an experienced Support Team Leader to help guide our growing team and support the delivery of high quality, person centred disability services across Mildura and beyond.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced disability support worker with leadership skills and qualities.
This position reports directly to the General Manager and acts as a vital link between Support Workers and management, supporting communication, assisting with operational matters and helping ensure services are delivered safely and consistently.
You will play a key role supporting staff in the field, helping manage complex situations and ensuring our participants receive safe, consistent and respectful support.

About the role
This is a hands‐on leadership position that combines team leadership with disability support work in the community.
You will support staff in the field, assist with operational issues and help maintain high standards of service delivery while also providing direct support to participants when required.
Your role will include:
* Providing day to day guidance and leadership to Support Workers
* Assisting staff to manage challenging situations and behaviours of concern
* Supporting safe incident management and risk management
* Mentoring new staff and supervising shadow shifts
* Assisting with participant meet and greets and support planning
* Providing feedback to management regarding staff performance and development
* Delivering high quality disability support to participants
About you
You are someone other staff naturally look to for guidance.
You remain calm under pressure, think clearly in difficult situations and know how to support both participants and staff when challenges arise.
You have strong values, a practical mindset and a genuine passion for helping people with disabilities live better lives.
You will likely have
* Several years experience working as a Disability Support Worker
* Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours or support needs
* Confidence mentoring or guiding other staff
* Strong communication and decision making skills
* A commitment to person centred support and participant dignity
Essential requirements
* Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support or above
* Current First Aid and CPR
* NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check
* Current driver's licence & reliable vehicle
Desirable
* Medication administration competency
* Experience supervising or mentoring staff
