Store Manager - Health Store for Dogs & Cats
Do you love dogs and their people, thrive on creating great customer experiences, and know your way around retail? We're a boutique holistic dog and cat supplies store with a loyal customer base and a reputation for stocking only the best in nutrition, accessories, and wellbeing care. We're looking for a hands-on Store Manager to lead our team and grow our business.
What You'll Do
- Lead, motivate, and support staff to deliver an outstanding in-store experience.
- Drive purpose-driven sales and build lasting customer relationships.
- Keep store processes and systems running at their best.
- Take initiative to solve problems quickly and keep things on track.
- Maintain a welcoming environment where animals and their humans feel safe and nurtured.
- Be tech-savvy with POS, Shopify, subscriptions, and loyalty platforms (or learn quickly).
Selection Criteria
- Professionally or personally, demonstrate a passion for holistic animal health and welfare, with an animal-centric viewpoint.
- Robust interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to drill into customers issues and provide solutions to their problems to build trust and loyalty.
- 1-3 years' experience in staff supervision and process management, including mentoring and developing less-experienced team members.
- Proven sales ability with a track record of creating positive customer experiences, where most sales are repeat / consumables.
- Ability to problem-solve, take initiative, and work independently in managing day-to-day operations.
- Bonus: Merchandising/warehousing and/or specialist pet health/nutrition knowledge / social media skills.
