Support Worker
Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and committed Support Worker to join our team at East Road in Cambridge.
East Road is our 25‐bed emergency accommodation service, often the first place people come to when they are rough sleeping and need immediate safety, support and a pathway forward.
Responsibilities
* Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support, helping to create a safe, secure and welcoming environment while supporting residents with their assessment, support and resettlement needs.
* Build trusting relationships, work alongside partner agencies, and help people move towards greater stability and independent living.
Requirements
* Good communication and IT skills.
* A willingness to be hands‐on.
* An understanding of the challenges faced by people who have experienced homelessness.
* Experience working with vulnerable adults is desirable, but training will be provided for candidates with the right values, skills and commitment.
* Availability for daytime shifts, including weekends, on a 4‐week rota, with opportunities for overtime.
* Subject to an enhanced DBS check.
