About the Role
The General Manager – Sales, Australia will lead all sales aspects of the Australian operation with a core focus on sales strategy and cadence, execution, and team leadership. This is a pivotal senior leadership role, responsible for driving growth through direct and indirect sales channels, managing key commercial relationships, and ensuring Smartpay continues to outperform the market.
Key responsibilities
1. Develop and execute a bold sales strategy to deliver customer acquisition, revenue growth, and profitability targets.
2. Lead, coach, and inspire a national sales team focused on delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
3. Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and indirect channel opportunities.
4. Drive customer-centric initiatives and operational excellence across the sales lifecycle.
5. Represent the Australian business at a leadership level and contribute to strategy and initiatives.
Key attributes
We're looking for a proven commercial and sales leader with:
* Significant experience in a senior B2B sales leadership role, ideally within payments, financial services, fintech, telco, or a fast-growth tech-led business.
* A track record of delivering sales growth through both direct and indirect channels in a high-volume sales environment.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to drive performance and build high-functioning teams.
* Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and the drive to thrive in a scale-up conditions.
