Job Summary
As the Cloud DevOps Engineer – Defence Infrastructure, your role is key in improving the stability and reliability of our cloud offerings and solutions to ensure continuity of service for our customers. You will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end development of key cloud platform and solutions which includes technical design, integration requirements, delivery and lifecycle management.
You are a specialist across and/or within a technology domain and viewed as the go-to person in the business to provide technical support in the development and delivery of cloud infrastructure platforms and solutions.

Focus of the Role
We’re seeking a Cloud Datawarehouse Application Engineer to join our high-performing team within the Defence Engagement group. In this role, you’ll contribute to the delivery of terrestrial-based communications infrastructure and support systems that monitor, control, and report on network performance for the Department of Defence.
The Prospect
This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that directly support national security, while contributing to the development and stability of our cloud-based data and reporting platforms.
This is a permanent full-time role.
Location: Canberra / Melbourne / Sydney / Brisbane
Candidates must be Australian citizens and hold, at a minimum, a current Baseline security clearance and willing to obtain NV2 to be considered for this role. This position requires the ongoing holding and maintenance of an Australian Government NV2 Security Clearance.

Our Defence Team
Being in our Defence business means you'll be working to provide secure network and solutions for our Defence customer segment.
What You’ll Do
- Design and deliver data and reporting functions in our Cloudera-based data warehouse.
- Support the end-to-end development of cloud platforms and solutions—from technical design and integration to delivery and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build fit-for-purpose solutions that meet performance and operational requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and solutions to enhance service continuity and reliability.
Required Skill
SQL – strong proficiency in writing, optimising, and managing SQL queries for data reporting and analysis.
Desirable Skills and Technologies
Experience in the following areas is beneficial but not essential:
