The Job Responsibilities of the Mental Health Clinician
This position requires collaboration with a young person and their family/carers to identify needs, goals and develop comprehensive care plans.
The Mental Health Clinician provides high-quality psychosocial assessments and delivers evidence-based interventions.
Key Competencies Required
* Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist (accredited in mental health) or qualifications in social work and has (or willing to work towards) accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker
* Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, provision of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and other focused psychological strategies.
* Demonstrated understanding of key issues related to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.
* Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people, and their family and friends.
