We're now entering an exciting new era of growth and innovation, and we're seeking a Golf Operations Manager to play a key role in shaping the future of our Club.
About the Role
The Golf Operations Manager is a hands-on leadership position, responsible for the daily administration and smooth operation of all golf activities at Blackwood Golf Club.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role provides leadership across the golf operations team – including the Pro Shop, competitions, retail, and events – ensuring the delivery of exceptional service and an outstanding member experience.
Working collaboratively with the Head Professional and the Member Services Administrator, the Golf Operations Manager will help drive membership engagement, event participation, and the continued professional presentation of the Club's golfing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all golf operations, competitions, and daily play.
Manage and develop the golf operations and Pro Shop team, fostering a high-performance, member-first culture.
Ensure the golf shop operates in full compliance with legislation and Club policies.
Oversee retail performance, including stock management, presentation, and financial reporting.
Support the Head Professional with golf lesson bookings, clinics, and tournament operations.
Collaborate with the Member Services Administrator to deliver golf-related promotions, events, and communication.
Ensure all competition results are posted promptly across Club platforms and local media.
Deliver seamless event experiences in collaboration with the Course and Food & Beverage teams.
About You
This role would ideally suit a qualified PGA Professional or an experienced retail or business operator with a strong background in golf and a sound understanding of golf operations.
You will be an organised and service-driven leader who enjoys engaging with members, thrives in a team environment, and brings strong business and communication skills to the role.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience in golf operations, retail management, or hospitality leadership.
Strong understanding of golf and the game's culture – a genuine passion for the sport is essential.
Proven ability to manage staff, budgets, and operational outcomes.
Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
Professional presentation and a commitment to member service excellence.
Experience using MiClub or similar golf management systems (advantageous).
PGA Membership or golf industry certification is highly regarded but not essential.
Current RSA and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
