Project Director – Development & Delivery (Utility-Scale Renewables)

Location: Perth, Western Australia

Contract: Fixed-term 12 months (with option to extend)

We’re partnering with a well-capitalised infrastructure platform delivering large-scale renewable energy projects across Australia.

With an impressive portfolio progressing through late-stage development, the business is seeking a Project Director to lead the project through final development, commercial structuring and into delivery.

The Role

This is a senior, end-to-end position sitting across both development and delivery, with a strong emphasis on commercial leadership, stakeholder management and driving the project toward financial close.

You will take ownership of the project across key workstreams including contracting strategy, grid connection, procurement and commercial alignment, working closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors and delivery partners.

While supported by technical specialists, this role is less about detailed engineering design and more focused on coordinating multidisciplinary inputs, making informed decisions, and ensuring the project is progressed in line with commercial objectives and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the project through late-stage development toward financial close and delivery
* Own the commercial strategy across EPC, OEM and key supplier engagements
* Structure and manage tender processes, contractor engagement and contract negotiations
* Oversee the grid connection workstream, acting as the key interface with network providers and relevant stakeholders
* Coordinate external consultants across technical, engineering and advisory scopes, ensuring alignment with project objectives
* Provide input into project financials, including capex, opex and programme assumptions
* Manage project risk, programme and key milestones across development and delivery phases
* Support approvals, stakeholder engagement and broader development requirements as needed
* Provide regular reporting and updates to senior stakeholders

About You

* Proven experience delivering utility-scale renewable energy or infrastructure projects within Australia
* Strong background in development, project delivery or commercial management within a developer, investor or contractor environment
* Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects through late-stage development and into execution
* Experience managing EPC contracting strategy, procurement processes and commercial negotiations
* Solid understanding of grid connection processes and stakeholder interface, without needing to be a deep technical specialist
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate inputs across technical, commercial and delivery functions
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, both internally and externally

Why Apply

* Opportunity to lead a flagship project within a well-backed platform
* Broad, end-to-end scope across development, commercial and delivery
* High-impact role with direct influence on project outcomes
* Flexible contract structure with potential for extension or longer-term involvement
