Overview
Experienced Social Worker required for this NT service. This is a remote 60 bed hospital. The service requires high level skills as a sole Social Worker and demonstrated cultural competence working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. There is a high incidence of domestic and family violence, child neglect and abuse reporting and statutory child removal.
Contract details
Start: 24th March. Duration: 8-12 weeks. Flights covered and free accommodation. Locum rates up to $75 per hour + super. Return flights reimbursed (up to $1200) and free accommodation for locums. A driving licence is required for this role.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience NOT including placements providing clinical social work services within a hospital setting (Emergency Department), including crisis intervention and short term support
* Strong knowledge and experience in domestic and family violence risk assessment, safety planning and support services
* Experience working with child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting requirements, and liaising with relevant agencies
* Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and after-hours shifts, on call
* This role is NOT suitable for new graduates or candidates who don\'t have PAID hospital experience
* Must have relevant experience and be eligible for AASW membership; overseas trained social workers must have qualifications assessed by the AASW

* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Director, Team leaders, SWs, DTs, OTs, PTs, SPs, AHAs, ALOs, Admin
