Over the past 75 years, they've become one of the largest farmers of fresh sweet corn and beans in the country! Their fresh vegetables are grown in clean, green Australian fields and packed to natural perfection.
They have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join their team in the Lockyer Valley area!
This person will be managing the maintenance team consisting of eight people, who support the packing operation of Beans & Corn and Farm assets (conveyors etc).
Remuneration:
- Permanent position $125,000 plus super
- ASAP start available
- Day shift
The Maintenance Manager ensures:
- A safe operating environment for staff, contractors and visitors;
- Alignment of maintenance activities with the Company’s vision, mission and values;
- Effective on-going delivery of maintenance across nominated portfolio’s aligning maintenance to operational objectives;
- Efficient stores and procurement activities are followed;
- Compliance with operational food safety and legislative requirements; and
- Asset lifecycle replacement requirements are captured across all portfolios.
The Maintenance Manager is accountable for the following portfolio of functions:
- Packhouse equipment maintenance and reliability
- Packhouse mobile fleet equipment maintenance and reliability
- Harvest and transport mobile fleet equipment maintenance and reliability
- Farm mobile fleet equipment and reliability
- Stores and maintenance purchasing
Qualifications:
- Essential: Trade qualifications in at least one (1) of:
- Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade; and/ or
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology, Electrician.
- Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in at least one (1) of:
- Bachelor of Engineering;
- Bachelor of Electrical and Computer Systems; and/ or
- Bachelor of Mechanical or Mechatronics.
Experience:
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in a food production, manufacturing environment (preferably fresh produce)
- Minimum five (5) years’ maintenance management experience
- Operations experience in a farming environment desirable
- Application of lean principles in a manufacturing environment
- Leadership of engineering/ maintenance teams to achieve business objectives and accountabilities
- Effective liaison, including information and advice to employees at all levels and across all business units and support functions
- Delivery of high quality, results-oriented, customer-focused solutions
- Process innovation planning, analysis, and advice to a diverse audience to assist and influence strategic decision-making
Skills and abilities:
- Strong leadership and engagement skills to motivate staff to deliver operational excellence
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships based on respect and trust across all levels of the business
- Demonstrated ability of a high Emotional Quotient (EQ)
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Personal accountability demonstrated through monitoring, evaluation, and improvement
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to employees with positive results
- Identification of staff training and developmental activities with resultant enhancement of job effectiveness and career development

- Broad knowledge and high level of proficiency utilising the Microsoft suite of programs
