Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Commis or Demi Chef to assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes across various kitchen sections.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a commercial kitchen, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, and a sound knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of your work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
* Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and prep tasks
* Monitor stock levels and assist with receiving and storing deliveries
* Work collaboratively with the kitchen and wider hotel team to ensure smooth service
* Contribute ideas for menu development and daily specials
* Adapt to different sections of the kitchen as needed

Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
* Sound knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
* Ability to work calmly under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
* Team player with good communication skills
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
