Child and Family Support Worker | Remote Area Family Service | Mt Isa
Employment Term: Maximum Term until 30 June ****, Part-Time (30.4 hours per week)
Location: Mt Isa
Remuneration: $***** per hour + Super + $15,900 NFP Salary Packaging and $2,650 for meals and entertainment

Your part in our UnitingCare team
As part of our Remote Area Support team (RAFS), the Child and Family Support Worker will be responsible for servicing the Mt Isa and surrounding areas.
You will have the opportunity to explore the dynamics of working with our vulnerable clients in communities, focusing on:
Supporting early childhood development, parenting resilience and mobile services to communities
Developing and implementing programs to strengthen family relationships, early intervention and prevention activities
Enhancing and supporting increased First Nations / Multicultural community participation and family functioning
Providing information, advice and referral pathways
Increasing awareness of children's wellbeing and taking a holistic approach to supporting early childhood education in alignment with family and child support to nurture children to be fully prepared for learning and life
This role predominantly delivers services in remote locations and, therefore, approximately 60% of work hours are spent traveling and overnighting in communities.
This unique opportunity allows you to explore the rural and remote outback of Queensland while visiting children and families on stations, in communities, and learning about rural life.
It also offers a chance to work with stakeholders committed to supporting families and children to reach their best outcomes.
What makes a difference for us?
Evidence of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent is required; this is an equal opportunity measure.
Tertiary qualification or working towards Diploma or higher in Children's services / Counselling / Community Services or similar, or willingness to study.
Highly motivated and energetic person with demonstrated experience working with young children and their development, supporting families and communities.
Current Queensland driver's license.
Blue card.
