Robert Half Executive Search has been retained to identify a visionary business leader for a newly created executive position with an established Australian manufacturing company.
The successful candidate will have 5-10 years of commercial leadership experience scaling businesses at pace in the commercial buildings and products sector, with demonstrable experience overseeing operations and undertaking high-level business development.
This individual will be a tenured manager with proven experience in a high-level leadership position (GM/MD/Director) in a standalone scaling business or a division of a large business, with strong commercial capability, sales negotiation skills and the ability to deliver on profitability targets.
Previous success managing people, processes and technology will be essential to the success of this individual in the role, as well as a thorough understanding of business operations in a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have gained experience in fabrication and will understand how to go from zero to a semi-automated, to fully automated factory set ups advancing the manufacturing capability from a position of almost zero production today to production at scale to meet demand.
A highly analytical individual with both gravitas and humility will likely integrate well and thrive in this fast-paced business built on a culture of empowerment, accountability and innovation.
* Preferably a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as manufacturing, engineering, mechatronics, construction management and/or business management.
* Proven end-to-end leadership of a whole business or a division of a more significant business.
* Proven success in the Buildings market in Australia.
* Background in commercial buildings and/or precast/infrastructure/structural product fabrication / manufacturing sectors.
* Prior go to market experience with a complex product is highly advantageous.
* Full P&L responsibility at a GM level or as the head of a significant business unit.
* Strong bids and tenders, contract negotiation and project management experience.
* Extensive leadership and experience, particularly driving strategy in a fast-growing organization.
* Robust financial acumen to quantify the size of opportunities and strengthen negotiation position with potential partners or clients.
* Strong business development experience, particularly in the construction innovation and commercial buildings space.
* Proven success in global markets, navigating cultural differences and multi-language negotiation.
