Resources Group is proud to be partnering with the Northern Territory's Department of Tourism and Hospitality on this newly created Market Research Manager role designed to drive strategic research across destination marketing, visitor economy growth and major events across the Northern Territory.
This role is particularly well‐suited to an agency researcher with a sense of adventure who is looking to make a client‐side move.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible role where your insights will directly influence tourism strategy, brand positioning, campaign effectiveness, major events investment, visitor experience and exciting future growth opportunities across the Northern Territory. You'll join during a major organisational transformation, helping shape how strategic insights support decision‐making.
You'll partner closely with marketing, events, business intelligence and government stakeholders, turning complex data into commercially relevant, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead strategic tourism and events research programs
* Manage external research agencies and procurement processes
* Design and oversee quant and qual research studies
* Evolve segmentation frameworks and continuous tracking programs
* Deliver strategic insights into visitor behaviour, brand health and market opportunities
* Translate technical findings into compelling stakeholder narratives
* Support evidence-based decision making across marketing, policy and destination management
* Present findings to senior leaders and cross-functional teams
* Contribute to capability building within the wider insights function
Key Skills & Experience
* Background in market research, strategic insights or customer insights
* Strong quantitative and qualitative research capability
* Experience working across tracking, segmentation or strategic insight programs
* Comfortable translating data into commercially relevant recommendations
* Confident engaging with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders
* Curious, adaptable and strategically minded
* Able to thrive within fast‐moving, evolving environments
* Degree qualified in market research, economics, statistics, social sciences or similar
* Transferable sector experience strongly considered
