OverviewBRHS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced medical officer joining our expanding medical workforce.
As one of three Surgical Registrars, you will gain significant skills and experience working in a rural setting, delivering high-quality and locally appropriate medical care to BRHS consumers under the supervision and direction of our Consultant General Surgeons.As the largest healthcare provider in East Gippsland, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) supports a rapidly growing population, offering a broad spectrum of care to local and wider communities.
The BRHS Medical Services directorate encompasses Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Sub-Acute or Rehabilitation Medicine, Surgery, and support services including Pharmacy, Medical Imaging and Pathology, as well as a Medical Workforce Administration team.The Surgical team runs theatre, surgical inpatient management, pre-admissions, and outpatient consultations.
The Perioperative Suite includes two operating theatres, a recovery room, pre-admission clinic and a day procedure unit.
Local and visiting specialists provide a range of services including general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology, endoscopy and dental.
