Cobra is divided into four main sectors of activity, Networks, Specialised installations, integrated projects and concession assets. ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed preferred network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission line network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV) is the design and construction contractor for ACEREZ.
The Central-West Orana Transmission Project will provide new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.
Location
The successful candidate will require someone to be based in Sydney and work in our Sydney offices full time, Monday to Friday. The role will progress to Adhoc travel to site and then eventually full-time site, based at Merotherie, NSW regional office.
About the Role
Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated OEM Electrical Manager to manage interface within our growing Substation team. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, construction, and quality assurance, to ensure that all aspects of the project are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
* Lead third party interfaces with OEM suppliers, the client and consultants and build relationships through the delivery of the Project
* Manage requirements of third party agreements and reporting tools to exhibit compliance. Management of these requirements through Project Delivery gates (Design to Commissioning) is a key deliverable for this role
* Engage within the Project Delivery Team to manage communication with third parties with upcoming works that will impact on an operational basis. Communication and presentation of these work scopes in a succinct manner is key
* Liaise with Network Operator, client, internal delivery arms and support services to ensure energy supplier connections meet the requirements set out in various electrical standards, designs and processes
* Engage with key third party stakeholders affected by project works to understand their needs and concerns, taking measures to maintain effective relationships throughout the project
* Ensure all requirements of third party agreements are appropriately disseminated to relevant Network Operator team members
* Manage the procurement and ongoing supplier relationships for all substation electrical equipment
* Drive commercial assessments of changes imposed by external stakeholders
* Support management of project schedule of works and progress monitoring throughout the project
* Provide input and develop solutions which aim to minimise impact to third parties, whilst maintaining commercially effective project delivery
* Maintain effective relationships with third parties in order to avoid disputes and commercial compensation claims including meeting regularly with Key Stakeholders
* Develop contractual letters for third parties and end-client as required as well as capturing meeting minutes with each third party
* Produce and maintain appropriate, standardized documents and regular reporting to EnergyCo, Network Operator Management and other stakeholders reflecting key issues, resolutions, and performance to enable them to effectively understand risks and impacts to the project
* Contribute to a collaborative approach within the team to facilitate the planning and delivery of interface works, ensuring all issues are clearly understood by teams and addressed, and appropriate interventions developed and implemented
Criteria for Selection
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related field
* 10+ years of relevant experience in electrical equipment, ideally in Substations
* Exposure to OEM suppliers both in Australia and Internationally
* Understanding of Australian standards with regards to electrical equipment
* Problem solving / analytical skills
* Good knowledge and understanding of layout and primary equipment for substation projects up to 500kV
* Proficient with various software tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, etc
