The Role
Our Aged Care Home in Kew has a permanent part time opportunity available for a Maintenance Officer. We are seeking a competent, reliable, and flexible Maintenance Officer to ensure the home is provided with a timely, skilled and customer focused maintenance service. This role involves close contact with residents of the home and good communication, gentle approach and sensitivity are required.
This position is responsible for supporting the Site Manager with the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the home's assets, supervision of contractor works and ensuring a secure and safe environment for all stakeholders.
**Key Duties**:
Manage Workplace Health & Safety responsibilities for facility maintenance related operations and contractor management including inductions and the maintaining of any required documentation and/or systems
Manage the site maintenance program both reactive and programmed. Ensure all works are done to best practice and meets all legislative and accreditation standards including the maintaining of any required documentation and or systems
Assumes the onsite responsibility for the managing and maintenance of the Essential Services Maintenance (ESM) requirements including the maintaining of any required documentation and/or systems
Ensure the preventative maintenance schedule is adhered to & up to date, and any request for maintenance is responded to in a timely manner
Ensure the level of local repairs are attended to promptly & use of external contractors is reviewed by the Site Manager as required
Attend site meetings & all mandatory staff training as directed by Site Manager
Liaise with both internal & external customers (residents, families, contractors & visitors) in a compassionate, helpful manner that best reflects Baptcare's Mission & Vision statement
Maintain strict privacy & dignity in all dealings with residents and staff
About you
Relevant experience in facility maintenance service delivery and management
Trade certificate or other relevant building/trade qualifications (preferred, but not essential)
Test & Tag qualification (preferred, but not essential)
Basic computer skills in Office Word, Excel etc. (essential)
Knowledge of MSDS, WHS
Current Driver's Licence (essential)
Current Flu & Covid Vaccination record (these are mandatory in the industry including 3rd COVID vaccination)
