About the Role
Design Sheet Metal is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to support our daily operations and keep things running smoothly.
This is a hands‐on role where you'll work across purchasing, supplier coordination, and customer service — no two days are the same. You'll play a key part in ensuring materials arrive on time, orders are accurate, and customers receive a seamless experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Raise and manage purchase orders with approved suppliers
* Ensure accuracy across pricing, quantities, and order details
* Track orders and manage supplier lead times
* Communicate updates with customers and internal teams
* Resolve delivery issues, shortages, or discrepancies quickly
* Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
* Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate where required
* Support the sales team with quotes, orders, and follow‐ups
* Provide professional customer service via phone, email, and in person
* Assist across the business as needed in a rapid‐paced workplace
About You
* Highly organised with robust attention to detail
* Confident communicator with a customer‐first mindset
* Able to multitask and manage competing priorities
* Proactive, reliable, and solutions‐focused
* Comfortable working in a hands‐on, team‐oriented environment
* Previous purchasing, admin, or customer service experience preferred
