We're looking for a skilled Business Support Officer to join our Team to keep essential services running
What You'll Do:
As a Business Support Officer, you will provide high quality administrative, financial and procurement support across the Cairns Infrastructure and Assets Directorate. This role is critical in helping operational teams deliver efficient, compliant and cost-effective services to the community.
Your day-to-day duties could include:
Providing friendly, responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Supporting staff across the Directorate with administrative, financial and procurement tasks.
Responding to enquiries, managing customer requests (CRMs) and responding to issues.
Processing applications, managing data entry and business processes to ensure a smooth flow of information.
Assisting with invoice processing, purchase orders and operational documentation.
Contribute to continuous improvement and a collaborative, "here to help" team culture.
What We're Looking For:
Certificate III in Business Administration and/or relevant experience in a similar role.
Ability to manage procurement activities in alignment with financial principles and compliance requirements.
Advanced numeric, written and verbal communication.
Excellent time management skills, and ability to prioritise work plans and meet required deadlines to manage workload and competing demands.
Experience in delivering customer service and demonstrated capability to liaise with clients and the public.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, and ability to work with minimum supervision.
Experience with computer software applications including MS Office and financial packages, with the ability to quickly learn new computer software applications.
