Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a respected public health provider serving the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region. The District's Oral Health (Dental) services are delivered at the Nepean Centre for Oral Health, Blue Mountains Hospital Dental Clinic, Hawkesbury Dental Clinic, and Lithgow Hospital Dental Clinic.
The team offers public dental services including diagnosis, restorative and preventative treatments, pain relief and dentures.
What You Will Bring To The Role
* Final year oral health therapy student anticipating graduation at year end, with a qualification eligible for full, unlimited registration as an oral health therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Effective verbal communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal communications and to maintain professionalism at all times.
* Demonstrated proficiency in written communication.
* Interest in the principles of public sector dentistry and oral health promotion.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality dental services within the scope of paediatric dental therapy and extended scope oral health therapy. Referees must be relevant to this point.
* Ability and willingness to provide dental services at different locations across the NBMLHD.
* Post interview, if short-listed, New Graduate Oral Health Therapists may be required to undertake a practical assessment. Recruitment will be based on the outcome of the interview, assessment and reference checks.
