NCVER is a professional and independent body responsible for collecting, managing, analysing, evaluating, and communicating research and statistics about VET and the links between education and the labour market more generally. More detail of NCVER's activities can be found on our Portal at www.ncver.edu.au

NCVER and the VET sector has, and continues to, experience a period of significant business change, with NCVER playing a major role in transforming systems and technology relating to the collection of data from the sector.

About the position

As the Manager, you will provide intellectual and operational leadership across NCVER's Technology and Cyber Security Branch, which oversees:

National VET data systems and infrastructure

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of NCVER's strategic IT roadmap, driving innovation across technologies, systems, and business applications. You'll oversee cyber security strategy, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure a secure and compliant digital environment. As a key contributor to executive decision-making, you'll provide expert policy advice while managing IT project governance and portfolio processes.

Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement, customer service excellence, and strong collaboration—building trusted relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders.

This role also plays a critical part in the VET Data Streamlining (VDS) program, collaborating with senior leaders to manage the transition to a new technology and data environment. You'll lead change across systems, business processes, and staffing, ensuring alignment with NCVER's strategic goals.

Experience leading, coaching and mentoring staff.

Experience in managing projects to completion within agreed scope, budget and success criteria.
