About the Opportunity
The role involves a mix of leadership responsibilities and direct consumer work. You will be working to support culture change to improve outcomes and service delivery for those with SPMI and complex MH needs.
The position is part of the SWSLHD PCLI/IDMH and NDIS team. It works alongside other SWSLHD MH services (inpatient and community) and the wider PCLI state network.
Professional qualities desired are, staff comfortable working in challenging environments whilst sustaining enthusiasm for consumer care and systemic advocacy. Staff able to recognise wins no matter how small when working in a space that can be demanding and requires lots of problem solving and clinical risk.
The PCLI team is a this is a district wide service however the team hub is based at the Mental Health service in Liverpool hospital.
What You'll be Doing
The Pathways to Community Living Initiative (PCLI) senior clinician will provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to ensure the delivery of evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team. The clinician will carry a PCLI clinical workload, appropriate to the needs of the service. The Senior Clinician will work across multiple services and sites with clinical teams to support the assessment and progression of safe transitions ofadultsconsumers with severe andpersistent mental illness (SPMI)intothecommunity.The clinician will also work with PCLI team and alongside other MH community services to improve outcomes for those at risk of an admission due to their complexity and potential breakdown of supports.

SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney.
These services cater to different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer a range of supports, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy. They work closely with inpatient services, GPs, and other community organisations to provide holistic care.

Relevant qualifications as an Occupational Therapist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with recent extensive experience working in mental health.
Demonstrated extensive experience in mental health rehabilitation providing advanced evidence based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment for consumers with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) and complex needs.
Demonstrated skills in leadership and clinical supervision, within a multi-disciplinary treatment setting.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills (including excellent negotiation and advocacy skills), problem solving skills and personal resilience when working with a range of stakeholders.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.
Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery using the quality improvement process.
Ability to work independently and in consultation with the multidisciplinary team.
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
