The Opportunity We are seeking a Systems Manager (Level 2) to support the delivery of system enhancements and sustainment activities across Defence ICT capability.
This role sits within a collaborative delivery environment focused on emerging projects and capability uplift. You will work closely with product managers, technical specialists and stakeholders to coordinate enhancement activities, track progress and support operational readiness.
You will contribute to planning, reporting and lifecycle activities, ensuring delivery aligns with governance, compliance and operational requirements. This is a strong opportunity for someone with Defence or government ICT experience looking to step into a broader capability delivery role.
Key Responsibilities
* Support planning and delivery of system enhancements, including scheduling, coordination and tracking of activities
* Assist in managing multiple workstreams across engineering, cyber, logistics and operational teams
* Maintain delivery artefacts including roadmaps, timelines and milestone tracking
* Monitor lifecycle activities, including Life-of-Type reviews and sustainment tasks
* Assist in tracking licensing, compliance and configuration management requirements
* Contribute to reporting, including risks, issues, performance and delivery updates
* Support testing, release planning and operational readiness activities
* Engage with stakeholders to support coordination of enhancement and sustainment activities
* Ensure documentation, training materials and configuration updates are maintained
* Identify and escalate risks or issues impacting delivery
Essential Criteria
* Experience supporting ICT projects, system sustainment or capability delivery in Defence or government environments
* Understanding of lifecycle management, configuration and sustainment practices
* Ability to coordinate tasks across technical teams and stakeholders
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable
* Experience within Defence or secure government environments
* Familiarity with ITSM, change management or enhancement delivery processes
* Exposure to project delivery frameworks or certifications (PRINCE2, ITIL, etc.)
Security Requirements
* Must be an Australian Citizen
* Minimum NV1 clearance required (NV2 highly regarded)
