Opportunity
CSR is seeking a commercially minded and improvement-focused Production Manager to join our Yarraville site. This key role is responsible for driving production performance, enhancing processes, and influencing outcomes across the operation. Reporting to senior leadership, you will own production performance across safety, quality, cost and delivery. This hands-on, individual-contributor role requires influencing stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and optimizing plant performance rather than direct team leadership. You will embed lean manufacturing principles, improve operational efficiency and deliver measurable business outcomes. This role offers clear succession planning, with strong opportunities for career progression, including future leadership pathways as the function evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive production performance across safety, quality, cost and service outcomes
- Monitor and analyse production metrics to identify and implement improvements
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, embedding Lean and CI methodologies
- Manage and optimise production costs including labour, materials and energy
- Improve equipment performance and minimise downtime in partnership with maintenance
- Enhance quality assurance processes, testing and reporting systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, inventory and customer service
- Standardise best-practice production processes across operations
- Champion a strong safety culture aligned to Zero Harm
About You
You are a proactive and resilient manufacturing professional who thrives on improving performance and influencing outcomes. You bring a strong analytical mindset and are passionate about continuous improvement.
Key Experience Includes
- 3+ years' experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Strong knowledge of Lean principles (e.g. 5S, CI methodologies)
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Solid financial acumen with experience managing production costs
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and customer outcomes
