Overview
This is a key position within our Strategic Engagement and Government Relations Team, responsible for developing policy positions in areas including tertiary education, international education, and student visa policy.
* Job Responsibilities:
* Conducting research and analysis to support evidence-based advocacy;
* Representing the organization at key sector and political forums;
* Analyzing government policy to determine its impacts on business operations and objectives;
* Assisting with developing the organization's government relations strategy;
* Developing advocacy plans for specific government relations campaigns;
* Building and managing relationships of trust with policymakers, peak bodies, and other policy influencers;
* Preparing submissions for government policy reviews, proposed legislation, and other consultative processes;
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to source content and make recommendations on the organization's positions on key policy debates;
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A degree with substantial relevant experience or extensive experience and policy expertise in tertiary education or other complex regulatory environments;
* A sound understanding of policy, operations, and emerging trends in the tertiary education sector;
* Experience producing high-quality briefings, policy positions, strategic insights, research, and other written material;
* Demonstrated experience supporting and advising senior leaders.
