Please note this is a full-time permanent position with some travel between hospital sites, however primarily working out of St Stephens Hospital, located in Hervey Bay. Your part in our St Stephens Hospital team Reporting to the Hospitals Group Executive, the General Manager of St Stephens Hospital is pivotal in providing effective leadership, governance and operational management of the hospital and in turn delivering UnitingCare Health’s commitment to clinical and service excellence, with compassionate care. As a member of the SLT take responsibility for key management decisions to ensure the effective operations of UnitingCare accountable for the delivery of all financial and operational targets for the hospital Continually monitor the environment to understand new or emerging issues that may impact on UnitingCare and develop robust and agile organisational responses to ensure contemporary solutions are in place Balance the mission imperatives of the Uniting Church with the commercial imperatives of operating a large, not for profit health and community services provider Create a value driven, safe employment environment that attracts, engages and retains skilled employees and volunteers Actively contribute to the maximisation of synergies across UCH to improve service delivery and business performance Build effective networks and partnering relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including consumers, staff, doctors and allied health providers, the Church, and community as well as health funds, government, and academic institutions Promote and protect the public reputation, standing and brand of the hospital What makes a difference for us? Extensive senior leadership experience in a large private hospital, with a demonstrated track record of driving sustainable financial, operational and clinical performance Proven ability to engage stakeholders, manage diverse viewpoints and build appropriate partnerships Proven ability to provide leadership in professional standards and ethics Ability to provide effective leadership across multiple stakeholder groups. Effective interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) Demonstrated ability to lead the development of a strategic action plan, including development and monitoring of key performance indicators and change process Tertiary Qualifications Post Graduate Qualifications in Finance, Business, Leadership or other relevant field (desirable) Experience with or sound knowledge of the not for profit sector (desirable) What makes a difference for you?
