Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced community services professional who demonstrates compassion, empathy and accountability to facilitate the transition of homeless participants residing at The Arches while on bail to suitable and longer-term accommodation. The successful applicant will a use person centred framework to develop transition plans with a key focus on finding medium to longer-term accommodation and community supports to maintain the accommodation.
You will have demonstrable experience in providing direct support to people who have a range of complex needs including experience of homeless and who have had contact with the criminal justice system, paired with experience and skills in developing trusted working relationships with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal participants.
What can you expect to be doing?
13. Facilitate the transition of participants to suitable, longer term accommodation
14. Support personal wellbeing through the provision of tailored support services to participants and provide one on one
15. Make assessments to determine service eligibility
16. Work collaboratively with internal specialists and external service providers and make referrals where additional support requirements are identified to better meet client needs
17. Demonstrate cultural awareness and ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants
What do you need to bring?
18. Qualification in Social Work or Community Work and/or experience engaging with individuals who are homeless or at risk of being homeless
19. Knowledge of the community services sector in South Australia with a specific emphasis on homelessness and the criminal justice sectors
20. Experience developing and maintaining support plans, and risk assessment documentation
