What you'll do
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and partnering closely with the rest of the ELT, you'll lead a capable internal team of nine across software, data and infrastructure, driving transformation that improves performance, scalability and competitive advantage.
Your role is to turn technology into a strategic asset: a platform that accelerates growth, reduces risk and enhances the experience for advisers, clients and employees.
You'll:
* Deliver a multi-year technology and architecture roadmap aligned to growth, compliance and customer outcomes.
* Strengthen platform reliability, scalability and cyber resilience to ensure performance, security and trust.
* Embed DevOps, CI/CD and disciplined engineering to improve delivery speed and quality.
* Build capability within the team, mentoring emerging leaders and creating structure, rhythm and accountability.
* Simplify data and reporting to drive faster, smarter insights.
* Partner with executives, advisers and the board to align investment, risk and returns on technology.
This is not a rebuild; it's an opportunity to improve ROI, strengthen resilience and create a secure, scalable platform that drives growth, efficiency and exceptional experience across the Infocus network.
Who you'll do it for
Infocus is a privately owned Australian financial services group with 70 employees that integrates financial advice, technology and investment management to help Australians make confident financial decisions.
Headquartered on the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore), Infocus has grown over 30 years into a national network supporting thousands of advisers and clients. Technology sits at the core of that model, enabling scale, compliance and performance.
The creation of this CTO role represents a deliberate shift: elevating technology from operational management to strategic leadership. You'll have the backing of the CEO, the board and a high‑calibre executive team who are aligned, pragmatic and ready to modernise.
What you'll need
You're an experienced technology leader who combines strategic foresight with hands‑on capability. You bring the maturity to operate confidently at board and executive level, and the pragmatism to lead a small, capable team through a period of structured uplift.
You'll have:
* Proven experience leading end‑to‑end technology strategy and execution within a complex, regulated financial services environment.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary technology teams across software development, infrastructure and data.
* Demonstrated success modernising legacy platforms and embedding disciplined software engineering, governance and delivery frameworks.
* Deep understanding of cybersecurity, risk management and regulatory compliance (ASIC, AUSTRAC, ISO 27001).
* Credibility and confidence engaging with boards, auditors and external technology partners.
What's on offer
A senior executive appointment with full leadership visibility, board exposure and the mandate to shape Infocus' technology future. Relocation assistance is available for those moving to the Sunshine Coast, with hybrid options once established.
Infocus offers the rare combination of scale and impact. You'll lead from the centre of a high‑trust, purpose‑driven organisation that values integrity, collaboration and genuine care. Your leadership will strengthen the systems advisers rely on, the security that protects clients, and the data that drives better financial outcomes.
And beyond your work, you'll enjoy what the Sunshine Coast is famous for: community, balance and lifestyle. It's a place where professional challenge and personal wellbeing coexist.
