We pride ourselves on the ethos that all students will achieve success through excellence in teaching and learning.Harrisdale SHS has a strong, positive culture where teachers play a key role in ensuring our school values of Care, Respect, Responsibility, and Excellence are upheld and reflected in all actions.Find out more about our school by visiting harrisdaleshs.wa.edu.au or Schools Online .The RoleHarrisdale SHS is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Education Assistant – Special Needs to join their team of dedicated staff.The Education Assistant – Special Needs will, under teacher direction, assist with the implementation and delivery of specialised education programs such as occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy. The Education Assistant will also assist with implementing individual student or small group programs/demonstrations and assist teachers in the delivery of planned education programs, including the operation of computers and digital technologies. Additionally, when required, the Education Assistant will provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals in special education.The successful applicant will ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff across the whole school to create and maintain a supportive, inclusive education program to meet the specific needs of the students. They should be organised and able to use initiative to assist the teacher with the general care and well-being of students and maintenance of the learning environment.
