Job Overview:
The role of the Principal Project Officer Health Technology entails conducting thorough reviews and analyses of literature concerning health technology innovations and supporting care models.
You will employ a recognised Horizon scanning methodology to develop an early warning information sharing process for new technologies. Your insights and advice will be instrumental in guiding the adoption of these technologies into clinical practice, enhancing the quality of healthcare delivery.
Working with appropriate databases, you will develop workflow and gated processes to assess internal and external technology opportunities for Queensland Health, allowing us to explore and leverage the most promising innovations.
Responsibilities include creating comprehensive business cases to support project proposals and facilitating the assessment of new technologies. You will also provide timely and expert advice to executive management regarding state-wide and national services that involve high-cost, low-volume technologies.
To be successful in this role, you will have advanced project management skills, including the ability to define project tasks, set priorities and coordinate activities effectively to meet competing deadlines, with a history of proven and sustained outcomes.
You will have proven ability in strategic research, conceptual, problem solving and analytical skills, to provide advice on state and national adoption of new technologies.
In addition to this, you will understand the funding mechanisms particularly Activity Based Funding, grants systems and revenue sources as they affect the adoption of new technologies, and a comprehensive understanding of the health sector, including knowledge of the environment preferably with an understanding of clinical service delivery.
