As a Motor Mechanic you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
The role involves performing a wide range of mechanical repairs and services to ensure safe, reliable, and roadworthy vehicles for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles
Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs
Repair and replace worn or defective parts (including engines, brakes, suspension systems, cooling systems, and fuel systems)
Conduct test drives and post-repair diagnostics to ensure repairs are successful
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues in vehicle systems
Maintain accurate job records and complete service reports
Ensure all repairs comply with safety and quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop and tools
Liaise with customers when necessary to explain vehicle issues and repair options
Adhere to company policies, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Requirements:
Certificate III & IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years of recent and relevant experience as a motor mechanic
Sound knowledge of mechanical systems and vehicle electronics
Ability to read technical manuals and diagnostic software
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Valid driver’s licence
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Robust time management and organisational skills
Good communication and customer service skills
