The CompanyPeak Partners is partnered with a respected Asian energy developer, delivering a large-scale pumped hydro storage project. Sitting at USD $5bill+, the project provides an excellent opportunity for qualified professionals to gain expat exposure in Asia. The project involves complex above and below ground water conveyance systems and is being delivered in challenging geological conditions. As construction advances, the project is strengthening its site leadership capability to support the delivery of critical waterways infrastructure.
The RoleAs the Project Manager - Waterways, you will be responsible for the construction and delivery of major water conveyance works across the project. You will lead multidisciplinary teams and contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of waterways works. Reporting into senior project leadership, your key responsibilities will include:
* Leading construction of above and below ground steel penstocks and associated support structures
* Managing raiseboring and shaft sinking activities for vertical and inclined waterways infrastructure
* Overseeing drill and blast excavation works for tunnels and underground water conveyance systems
* Coordinating construction of inlet and outlet structures, including hydraulic interfaces and tie-ins
* Managing contractor performance across safety, quality, schedule, and cost
* Coordinating interfaces between civil, tunnelling, underground, and electro-mechanical scopes
* Monitoring site progress and resolving technical or construction issues impacting delivery
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mining, Civil or Structural Engineering
* Experience in the delivery of major underground packages of work, preferably in hydropower (but not essential)
* Strong exposure to underground construction, raiseboring, shaft sinking, and drill and blast excavation
* Proven capability managing complex contractor and interface driven scopes
* Ability to work fully site-based
