Purchasing Officer
Are you an enthusiastic, results-driven professional with a passion for procurement excellence? We're looking for a Purchasing Officer to join our Client's dynamic Tactical Purchasing Team, a leading mining company known for innovation, integrity, and operational excellence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Lead, you'll be instrumental in the seamless execution of daily purchasing operations. Your mission: deliver cost-effective, value-driven procurement solutions that support our business objectives, all while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, efficiency, and stakeholder engagement.
Start Date: Immediate
Roster: 5/2 Roster – Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and secure value-adding, non-contracted purchasing solutions that meet total cost of ownership objectives.
- Manage day-to-day tactical purchasing activities to ensure timely and consistent service delivery.
- Drive improvements in purchasing processes, introducing greater efficiency, automation, and innovation.
- Provide guidance on purchasing systems, policies, and procedures to internal stakeholders across the business.
- Maintain compliance with internal governance, ethical standards, and procurement frameworks, while ensuring data integrity.
- Utilize SAP to generate reports, analyse data anomalies, and lead process improvement initiatives.

What You Bring
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A sound understanding of how the Purchasing function contributes to broader business goals.
- Ability to apply structured, consistent procurement processes aligned with business needs.
- Demonstrated experience working within an ERP system (SAP) to execute purchasing functions.
- Ideally, 1–3 years' experience in a fast-paced procurement environment (experience in mining or heavy industry highly regarded).
