About This Opportunity The Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer is a research centre within UQ CCR. QCGC Research mission is to research and develop the best standard of care for women experiencing gynaecological cancer. We are rapidly expanding and are seeking a Clinical Trial Manager to work as a member of the research team at the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer (QCGC) located within the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital campus at Herston. As a member of the research team, you will be responsible for the management and operation of various gynaecological oncology studies. The main tasks of the Trial Manager include coordinating multi-centre investigator-initiated studies from feasibility through to start-up/initiation and assist in the day-to-day running of the research projects. You will also liaise with the Director of Research, Clinical Research Manager, Investigators, and Clinical Trial Coordinators regarding the management of clinical trials. This role requires a highly motivated and organised Clinical Trial Manager to provide the day to day running of the research trial to grow patient recruitment both nationally and internationally. Key responsibilities will include: As part of a research team, prepare and develop all associated research project documents, including ethics and governance submissions, study protocols, case report forms, presentations for meetings and assist in the development of databases to capture trial data Monitor the progress of the study and provide written and verbal reports to key stakeholders on research activities and progress Coordinate and communicate with international study sites, ensuring adherence to study protocols and guidelines. Ensure research complies with the ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research and other relevant legislation and guidelines Supervise and mentor more junior research staff Conduct regular team meetings to review study progress, address issues, and ensure alignment with trial objectives. Assist with the preparation of Clinical Trial Research Agreements Manage relationships with external vendors, including CROs, laboratories, and other service providers. Ensure effective communications with collaborators, trial sites and key stakeholders Undertake other study coordinator activities such as the assessment of patients for inclusion in clinical trials, information retrieval, and data collection within the parameters of relevant Privacy, Ethical and Medico-legal guidelines Supervise recruitment strategies, including communication and marketing as required Ensure patient safety and adverse/serious adverse events are reported according to ethics committee and regulatory requirements Perform other duties as directed Undertake other study coordinator activities such as the assessment of patients for inclusion in clinical trials, information retrieval, and data collection within the parameters of relevant Privacy, Ethical and Medico-legal guidelines This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through until December 2026 at HEW Level 7. About You Possession of tertiary qualifications in Science or related Health field (i.e. Nursing); or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training Experience of approx. 3 years as a clinical trial supervisor, preferably in a cancer care setting, with a focus on Phase 3 surgical trials. Further qualifications in clinical trial management Knowledge and Skills. Demonstrated high level of knowledge, experience and skill in the management and conduct of clinical trials according to the principles of: ICH Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice and The National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research involving Humans Demonstrated knowledge of the regulatory and ethical requirements associated with the conduct of clinical trials in Australia Proficiency in computer packages including Microsoft office and databases Well-developed communication and writing skills with a demonstrated ability to draft, proof and edit a wide range of written material including research protocols and reports Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as appropriate to complete research tasks within the project time frame Advanced critical thinking skills Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and take responsibility for initiatives Have a track record of finishing tasks on time and to a high standard, with attention to detail Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Ability to coordinate complex projects across multiple national and international sites. Demonstrated working knowledge of rare gynaecological cancer (vulvar cancer) is essential. The successful applicant will be required to be credentialled to work within Queensland Health in clinical trials and includes a criminal history check. This process will be undertaken upon commencement. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
