Recruiting a 37.5 hour full time Personnel Security Officer role for a 12 month maternity leave labour hire contract.
You will be joining a Government Department dedicated to utilising Nuclear Science, Research and Engineering, to create a brighter future for Australians. This Department boasts some of the best Science facilities in Australia and it's research and innovation works towards key developments in the Health industry and sustainability.
Due to the nature of the role this position is full time on-site, offering a rotating roster of shifts, based in Lucas Heights, Southern Sydney.
**Your new role**
The Personnel Security Officers' duties include, but are not limited to;
- Initiate on-boarding security clearance processes and provide administrative functions in connection with the processing of security assessments/vetting.
- Ensure visitor records are entered accurately, and the database is maintained.
- Undertake a range of data entry and administrative responsibilities.
- Ensure accurate information is provided to staff and visitors;
- Administer procurement requirements for division including stationery, equipment, purchase requisitions (SAP);
- Build good working relationships with all stakeholders by demonstrating a flexible, professional and positive attitude and a high standard of conduct and customer service;
- Work effectively in a small team by supporting each other and prioritising tasks;
- Undertake other duties and projects as directed by management, including supporting team members during periods of leave;
- Show initiative and a willingness to expand work skills by working towards a completion of a Certificate III in Personnel Security.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Reception and Administration experience
- Ability to adhere to legislation, policies and professional standards
- Experience in ensuring full compliance, meeting safety procedures and standards and regulatory requirements
- Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to work on a rostered timetable starting at either 7.00am, 7.30am or 9.30am
- Australian Citizenship required as Government role
