**Quality Specialist - Long Life (12 month Contract)**
**About The Role**
An exciting opportunity now exists to work on our Own Brand products in our End to End Quality & Food Safety Team. We are looking for an experienced quality professional with expertise in a technical / quality role.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Ensure Woolworths brand requirements are met for Woolworths Own Brand products in your portfolio and through the internal product development process.
- Ensure that safety, legality and quality are met for all products in your categories and for products going through product development.
- Develop supplier relationships and conduct regular KPI meetings to drive an improvement culture and be able to demonstrate improving KPI's.
- Work with the business teams and suppliers to ensure that new Woolworths Own Brand products are delivered on time and to the correct specification.
- Be the technical lead for projects, being the point of contact for technical queries.
- Driving a quality and food safety culture within the business and your supply base.
- Through liaising with the Supplier Compliance team and directly with suppliers, you will ensure suppliers comply with the Woolworths Supplier Excellence standard requirements.
- Ensure customer expectations within your product range are met, through sampling with suppliers, internal panels and reviewing of customer complaints.
- Risk assess proposed branded products through the Woolworths risk assessment tool, conduct desktop product and supplier audits to ensure only safe and legal products are ranged.
- Conduct functionality and fit for purpose testing in conjunction with the business team and provide advice on product quality & safety.
- Build and maintain relationships with buying & product development teams to ensure QA is integrated into the product development process.
- Ensuring your suppliers within your category are manufacturing products in factories that are of the highest standard and compliant to the Woolworths Supplier Excellence Standard.
**About You**
- A passion and interest in food. Be a real foodie!
- A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline.
- An experienced Quality Manager in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- A broad knowledge of major food products and how they are produced.
- The ability to be able to add value and ideas to the development of products around quality & food safety.
- A solution focused approach
- Project management experience - Have the ability and proven experience to take a product range from concept to launch, in a quality & food safety capacity.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and suppliers in a complex and fast moving workplace.
- A thorough understanding of the Australian and New Zealand food regulatory environment.
- Understanding of other GFSI standards locally and internationally.
