About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated trade qualified individual to join our Water and Wastewater Operations team. As the Senior Mechanical Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of water supply and sewerage facilities, pumping equipment, fixed plant, and mechanical equipment located at numerous treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, along the water and sewer networks across the Shire.
You will provide technical guidance and support to the mechanical team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the reliability and performance of these critical services, which are expected to operate at a high level by the community.
In addition to your technical skills, you will also possess excellent communication and leadership abilities, enabling you to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including professional, trade, contract, and operational staff.
Your role will involve supervising the mechanical team during maintenance activities, organizing and allocating tasks, completing minor works, and assisting field staff as required. You will also be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of all water supply and sewerage facilities, requiring a broad range of trade skills and knowledge of mechanical equipment.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
1. Trade Certification
2. Demonstrated competence in mechanical installations, maintenance, and pumping equipment
3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in workplace safety procedures and implementation / monitoring in the field
4. A well-organized and proactive leader with a passion for building and empowering a successful team
5. Ability to effectively communicate with professional, trade, contract, and operational staff
6. Demonstrated ability to meet the requirements of 24 hour
