Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager
Australian-owned and operated, Bonney Energy operates across Tasmania and Victoria and is a premier distributor of Ampol's trusted fuel and lubricant products.
The company's head office is located in Quoiba, near Devonport, on the North-West Coast of Tasmania, with another Tasmanian branch office in Launceston.
We are also situated in Regional Victoria, with offices located in Newport, Melbourne and Corio, as well as seven other depots located across the state.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager who wants to make a meaningful impact in an industry-leading organisation.
Join our team and help prevent injury and illness through the participation, co-operation and commitment of everyone in the workplace.
In this pivotal role, you'll coach and mentor Managers to cultivate a culture of proactive safety leadership.
Drawing on your expertise in behavioural safety and compliance standards, you'll champion best practices and lead continuous improvement throughout the business.
The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager will oversee all aspects of safety, risk, and compliance across our Victorian & Tasmanian Retail teams and Fuel Operations.
This position is based in either Devonport, Tasmania or Melbourne (Newport), Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
Work Health & Safety Management
Continuous development and implementation of the Bonney Energy Group Health, Safety, Environment & Quality System and supporting policies and procedures to increase awareness of safe work practices and minimise exposure to occupational hazards and environmental issues.
Incident and Hazard Management
Manage all Bonney Energy incident, investigation and action databases, ensuring incidents have investigations raised where appropriate, and actions identified are completed.
Support Managers in the incident investigation process, including taking the lead investigation role when required.
Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances Management
Be accountable for ensuring all dangerous goods and hazardous substances are labelled, stored, used and disposed of in accordance with Safety Data Sheet (SDSs) and required PPE and first aid supplies are available.
Emergency Response
Ensure all Emergency Response plans, emergency contact information and ISS First Response subscriptions are reviewed and updated as required to ensure they are relevant and current.
Ensure CFA Fire Prevention Reports are current and liaise with CFA as required (Vic).
In conjunction with the support provided by the Training & Compliance Specialists and all Depot Managers.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
Qualifications
Certificate IV Work, Health & Safety
Occupational First Aid Certificate, Level 3
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
ICAM Lead Incident Investigation Training (desirable)
Knowledge
Minimum 3 years' experience in a high-level Work Health & Safety role
Detailed understanding of Work Health & Safety Legislation and other laws and Standards applicable to the work environment
Knowledge of National Heavy Vehicle Law and Standards applicable to the transport and fuel industries (desirable)
Experience in the development & implementation of Work Health and Safety systems
Experience in emergency response procedures and drills
Experience in incident investigation
Experience in the delivery of training
Experience in return-to-work management and processes (desirable)
