Our District's Oral Health (Dental) services are provided to eligible patients at the following locations: Nepean Centre for Oral Health, Blue Mountains Hospital Dental Clinic, Hawkesbury Dental Clinic, and the Lithgow Hospital Dental Clinic. The team offers public dental services including diagnosis, restorative and preventative treatments, pain relief and dentures.
We are seeking a motivated Temporary Administration Officer to join the Oral Health team at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. This temporary position offers the possibility of extension and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a supportive and community‐focused healthcare environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for a range of administrative and reception duties that support the smooth operation of our Oral Health services. Your day will involve managing dental reception tasks, responding to incoming calls within the Oral Health Call Centre, and assisting patients and community members with general enquiries. You will undertake data entry using the Oral Health Information Systems database, generate reports as required, and maintain accurate and up‐to‐date medical records through IPM.
Your responsibilities will include a variety of office tasks such as photocopying, organising office spaces, ordering equipment and materials, managing mail, and maintaining organised record systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in delivering high‐quality administrative support.

What you will bring to the role
* Demonstrated experience dealing with a high volume of clients face to face.
* Demonstrated experience dealing with a high volume of clients over the telephone.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
* Proven experience creating and maintaining health record systems.
* Demonstrated knowledge of either medical and or dental terminology.
* Ability to problem solve and use initiative.
* Demonstrated experience with electronic appointment scheduling for clients, including rebooking, confirming and rescheduling and other data entry skills.
* Proven organisational and decision-based skills and the ability to meet deadlines, with limited supervision.
