This role offers exciting opportunities to work across general building Quantity Surveying, primarily in cost planning and post-contract services, covering sectors including Health, Sports Precincts, Civic, Residential, and Aviation. Your expertise will be essential in supporting our clients with independent cost management and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with clients, architects, and main contractors to ensure successful project outcomes
* Identify and facilitate new business opportunities to drive growth and development
* Prepare and manage master-plan and feasibility budgets to inform decision-making
* Conduct cost checking of developing designs to optimize project delivery
* Apply value engineering techniques to minimize costs without compromising quality
* Evaluate tenders and analyze data to inform informed contracting decisions
* Negotiate contracts to protect client interests and ensure mutually beneficial agreements
* Manage cash flow projects to maintain financial stability and control
* Procure materials and services efficiently to meet project requirements
* Provide accurate and timely cost reporting to stakeholders
* Evaluate variations to ensure they align with project objectives and budget constraints
* Carry out valuations to determine fair compensation for works completed or damages incurred
* Prepare final account reports to document project completion and settlement
* Assist in claims preparation, presentation, negotiation, and settlement to resolve disputes
* Analyze investment opportunities to identify potential returns on capital
* Develop and implement benchmarking processes to improve consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in cost modeling and planning
Requirements:
* Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
* Demonstrate extensive experience in cost estimating and planning software, including proficiency in Cost X
* Showcase experience in managing diverse build projects from conception to completion
* Possess RICS/AIQS accreditation or a willingness to pursue certification
* Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the total project life cycle, from inception to post-project review
