Overview
The *** is seeking a Materials & Process Engineer to support AR/VR technology development.
Role centers on advancing organic materials from concept through device integration.
Requires strong expertise in material processing, analysis, and understanding their impact on device performance.
Responsibilities
Drive development of next-generation optoelectronic materials through design, fabrication, and analysis.
Assess new material concepts and evaluate their potential impact on AR/VR devices.
Partner cross-functionally with teams across Meta *** Research to address program goals, challenges, and bottlenecks.
Design and explore Client techniques for crystal growth, material processing, and characterization.
Communicate research findings clearly to internal teams and external collaborators.
Support the transition of research discoveries into practical applications for Meta product development.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Optical Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
Chemistry
Materials Science (organic materials focus)
Crystallization and nucleation
Solid-state analysis or optoelectrical materials
2+ years of hands-on experimental laboratory experience with demonstrated ability to adapt concepts to bench-top work.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with optical measurement and analysis (refractometry, ellipsometry).
Experience with solid-state analysis techniques (diffuse reflectance, XRD, spectroscopy, DSC, optical microscopy).
Experience using crystallographic software suites (CCDC suite, BGMN, Profex, Olex2).
Experience with chromatography tools such as HPLC, LC-MS, and GC.
Strong cross-functional communication skills and experience collaborating in team environments.
Demonstrated technical achievement through grants, fellowships, patents, or first-authored publications in relevant journals.
