Financial Leadership Role
About the Job:
This pivotal position requires a strategic financial leader to oversee all financial functions, ensuring robust management and sustainability in support of community-driven programs and priorities. The role involves leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting aligned with DAC's goals, preparing annual budgets for the corporation, and supporting team leaders in managing their annual budgets.
The ideal candidate will provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and Board, present financial reports at meetings, mentor a high-performing finance team, and promote culturally safe financial practices across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include overseeing financial operations, coordinating and streamlining income streams from grants, commercial activities, and service delivery, and ensuring compliance with government funding agreements and reporting obligations.
As a proactive and professional financial leader, you will bring strong leadership and team development capabilities, outstanding communication skills, and proficiency in MYOB, Xero, Excel, and ERP systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance
* CA/CPA or equivalent (desirable)
* Minimum 5 years' experience in senior financial leadership roles, ideally in not-for-profit, Aboriginal-controlled, or government-funded organisations
* Proven experience in managing complex budgets, financial compliance, and risk management
* Experience working with Aboriginal communities or organisations (highly desirable)
