Policy Development Lead
This is a senior role within the Biosecurity Division, focusing on policy development and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include shaping legislation through expert advice and strategic analysis, as well as engaging with key stakeholders across government and industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead policy development and shape legislation through expert advice, stakeholder engagement, and strategic analysis.
* Develop clear and compelling documentation, including discussion papers and policy positions.
* Engage with key stakeholder groups across government and broader industry.
* Translate technical insights into actionable policy and oversee program delivery officers where applicable.
* Contribute to wider departmental initiatives and ensure alignment with government processes and biosecurity frameworks.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically assess complex biosecurity systems and legislation.
* Ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for reform; interpret trends, risks, and emerging issues.
* High-level verbal communication skills to distill complex policy and legislative concepts into clear advice and documentation.
* Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders across government and industry.
* Leadership capabilities in providing oversight to program delivery officers.
